Pokédex Entries

The orbs of flame clutched by Mandeglare glow eerily in the darkness. When Mandeglare wishes to remain undetected, it alters the flames' properties so that only it can see the light.


Mandeglare's cold, grasping hands are piloted by the sinister orbs. It drifts through the darkness looking for mischief to cause. This Pokémon is popular with thieves who creep around in the night.

Galaraud 1.0 (c. 2010)
Galorindle's evolution originally drew inspiration from people actually using a hand of glory to light their way: Galaraud for further thievery, and Galoryph (not shown here) for research. Not a terrible idea, but when you're starting off with a disembodied hand, I kind of want the evo to embrace that and be even weirder.
Mandeglare 2.0 (2020)
Mandeglare sticks with being a disembodied hand—or pair of hands, in this case—and leans much harder into the spooky light(ish) spirit schtick than Galaraud did. It's probably one of the more outright bizarre fakemon designs I've done, and I think it's a lot more eye-catching and fun this way.
