Effect
If, on the previous turn, the user's last move missed, failed to affect each of its targets, or was prevented from being used due to an effect such as paralysis or flinching, this move's power is doubled. Move failures due to Protect or a similar effect, or because the user was recharging due to using a move like Hyper Beam, do not count as a failure for the purposes of this move.
