Voltigre are at their most active when clouds of black debris from their volcanoes fill the sky, creating volcanic thunderstorms. A Voltigre that has been fully charged by lightning gives off so much heat that it is impossible to stand too close to it.
It is thought that stories of ancient cultures who made sacrifices to "volcano gods" arose from those cultures' encounters with Voltigre swimming in craters. In reality a Voltigre's diet consists primarily of rocks, although they are quick to use their crushing jaws and sharp teeth to defend their territory.
Name Origin
volt + volcano + tigre, Spanish for tiger
