A legendary fifteen

Small birthday content, but containing some very big, big boys.

It's that time of year again! Fifteen whole entire years ago today, I started sharing my collection of weird little Pokémon guys on a website that was already waaaay more unnecessarily complex than most people bothered with back then. (And a decade ago today, I decided it wasn't unnecessarily complex enough and launched this version of the site!) I would've loved to have a lot more ready to go for today's update in honor of those big fancypants numbers, and I did have some revamps, new friends and other little things in the works, but time, technical problems and some personal rough patches got in the way, as they always manage to. But! Never let it be said that I let a huge milestone like this go by with nothing fun to show for it. I do have a handful of new weird little Pokémon guys—for some definition of "little"—and I hope you dig 'em as much as I do.

First up, we have the Phoenixdex's first regional forms, bringing a little Egyptian-flavored solar flair (ha ha) to some old friends! (I did hint last year that Ice-type Lapras wouldn't be sticking around in the toasty desert warmth for long, heh. It's moseyed on over to Extra Pokémon for now, where it'll hopefully be a little comfier while waiting for other projects to come along.) Nesubian Hawlucha also has its own special move, complete with a wee bit of type chart shenaniganry to stay on-brand with its Kalosian counterpart.

I was going to do my usual grandiose, rambling preamble about momentous occasions requiring the traditional introduction of some particularly weighty Pokémon and whatever else, but y'know what you already saw the word "legendary" in the title and as such the jig is probably up. So:

Aermachis
Aermachis
Flying Psychic

Zantekhis
Zantekhis
Dark Ground
Competitive
95/120/90/135/120/110

Aermachis and Zantekhis are two of Nesubi's most powerful Pokémon—in fact, if Nesubi existed in the actual Pokémon game series, these would be the two legendary Pokémon gracing their respective versions' covers! Inspired by the Egyptian deities Horus and Set, these two friends... well, I say "friends", but, uh. They don't seem to like each other very much, actually? Their rivalry is so heated that their signature moves, Zenith Wing and Midnight Spear, specifically grow stronger when used against each other. But hey! As long as Aermachis keeps its vigilant watch over the north and Zantekhis restricts its skulking to the south, I'm sure they'll be able to keep out of trouble.

...probably.

That's all for now! With any luck things'll settle back down over the next few months and I'll be able to keep the momentum going on the other things I had originally wanted to release today. Until then, stay safe out there, be good to each other, and, as always, thanks for checking in on this big box o' weird little Pokémon guys every once in a while.
