Design History

(click thumbnail to enlarge.)

Pandive 1.0 (2008)
Pandive's design has always been a little awkward, but this one (in addition to the ancient art quality) comes off as particularly clunky. I think it's how the wings and 'arms' connect?
Pandive 2.0 (2012)
Pandive is still a weird little pterodactyl-bird, but at least the wing feathering makes more sense here.
Pandive 3.0 (2024)
The original intention behind Pandive's wing-arms (and 1.0's stance) was to mark it as a transition between the bipedal Spraylet and the quadrupedal Osgrave, but it just never really worked well so I finally let it go. It's much more satisfying as a bird Pokémon here, even if Osgrave's body type is now a bit more of a jump.
