Sheleras's coat conceals it in tall savanna grass. It's incredibly fast but tires easily, so rather than chase prey outright it makes a series of lightning-fast attacks before disappearing again.

Few Pokémon are faster than a Sheleras running at full speed. It moves through the tall grass so quickly and smoothly that by the time you notice the grass rustling, it's already long gone.

Design History

(click thumbnail to enlarge.)

Sheleras 1.0 (c. 2010)
The 'lightning bolt' body shape was an interesting idea, and the stripes were intended to look like a king cheetah, but it was otherwise a little simplistic and dull.
Sheleras 2.0 (2019)
Same lightning bolt base, but with a few more spot-like spots in addition to some stripes, and a few extra areas of pattern and color for a little more visual interest.
