Design History

(click thumbnail to enlarge.)

Petrocka 1.0 (2011)
The original design is too much like a generic cartoon kangaroo/wallaby, and the 'rock' elements are kind of half-hearted here.
Petrocka 2.0 (2012)
Largely the same design as 1.0, but with some tweaks to the face and general style to get closer to that elusive 'Pokémon-like' quality. The 'brass/stone knuckles' on its hands are an interesting idea, but it doesn't come across well—it mostly just looks puny.
Petrocka 2.5 (2013)
I never actually finished this redesign (hence the lack of shading). The stone claws on its hands are an improvement over the previous two, but it still strikes me as awkward and a bit too docile.
Petrocka 3.0 (2020)
A bigger design change than the other two attempts, mostly to make the stone parts of Petrocka's body more obviously, er, stony; to give it a more active, interesting stance; and to get rid of the unnecessary 'athletic tape' all over it.
