Design History

Osgrave 0 (c. 2008)
It's definitely showing its age now, but this image of Osgrave is special to me because it was the very first fakemon I drew when I first got serious about Pokémon design, as distinct from the goofing around I did as a kid. This crunchy friend is where it all started! It's neat to look back on this image in particular and see how far I've come.
Osgrave 1.0 (c. 2009)
This is the same basic artwork as the OG Osgrave, but cleaned up and made transparent so it was actually suitable for the then-in-development OG Phoenixdex.
Osgrave 2.0 (2012)
Considering how early the original Osgrave was, it's impressive how well the basic design and style held up compared to other designs I'd made around the same time (and later)! I had redrawn Spraylet and fully redesigned Pandive around this time, but I still liked Osgrave's art so much that all I did was touch the shading up a bit.
Osgrave 3.0 (2024)
OG Osgrave had a good run, but it did eventually need an update to bring its design in line with my current style and also with its previous stages. I did want to keep the pose and energy fairly similar, at least! Osgrave has always been a special favorite of mine and it was fun to try and keep the same spark.
