Every time a Lectarek moves, its quills rattle slightly. It is thought that the Lectarek's parents use the sound to keep track of where their offspring have wandered off to.


The quills around Lectarek's bottom are very sharp and carry a hefty static charge. Predators who try to grab Lectarek come away with quills stuck in their bodies and a nasty electric shock.
